What is Microshading (Ombre brows)?
Microshading is a cutting edge method of permanent makeup designed to enhance the eyebrows. Accomplished using a hand held machine with a very fine needle to implant pigment in the uppermost layer of the skin, creating the illusion of full & perfectly shaped beautiful eyebrows.
Is the microshading procedure painful?
While we love for procedures to have 0 pain, that is not always the case. As indicated by our reviews, there is minimal discomfort and sometimes clients fall asleep. .
How long does microshading last?
Microshading last anywhere from 1.5 - 3 years which depends on skin type/ condition, lifestyle and aftercare.
How long does it take for microshaded brows to heal?
It typically takes microshaded brows 10 days to heal externally. Then, for the most part you can continue your daily routine (limited restrictions). The remainder of the healing time is internally.
Can I get microshading while pregnant or nursing?
While we love our mommies and babies. We do not recommend that you receive services while you are pregnant or nursing. But we would love to see you once you are finished.
How do we decide on the shape of my brows?
This part of the process is called mapping. Brows shape and structure are a group project between the artist and client. We build the brows according to the clients face, bone structure, and various measurements.
Why can’t I have caffeine before my appointment?
Caffeine triggers increased blood pressure which increases bleeding and bruising.
Do I need to shave my brows off before my appointment?
Absolutely not. Our goal is actually to keep as much of your hair as possible. This allows for minimal upkeep by the client once the brows are healed.
How old do I need to be to receive this service?
The State of Texas requires that individuals be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo. A parent or guardian consent is not acceptable.
How often do I have to return for touch ups?
After a clients initial appointment, they return between 6-8 weeks to perfect the initial session.
Who is not ideal client?
Our brow services are not ideal for clients who are/ have:
- Pregnant/ nursing
- Uncontrolled disorders (high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.)
- Prescription Accutane or retinoids
- Please contact us if you're not sure
Does the service actually take 3 hours?
We like to take our time. After all you and your brows are the master piece. We like to allot 3 hours to ensure you are satisfied with your results.
Why is pigment loss during the healing process?
Pigment loss can occur during healing for variety of reasons included but not limited to:
- After Care
- Sun exposure
- Lifestyle, etc.
Pigment that is lost - will be replaced at the perfecting session.
I had work done by someone else, can your team complete my touch up?
Unfortunately, we do not provide touch ups for other artist work. This type of appointment is considered a correction or a cover up once the client has been evaluated by our team.
Do I need to have my brows groomed before the appointment?
Yes! We ask that all clients come to the appointment with groomed eyebrows (wax = 3 days before; threading = day of). Grooming your brows AT your appointment causes irritation to the skin and unnecessary trauma.
What things should I avoid AFTER my appointment?
Clients should avoid the following AFTER an appointment:
- Swimming (14 days)
- Excessive Sun exposure
- Exfoliators
I use Accutane/ retinol, how soon can I be serviced?
If you use Accutane or prescription retinol, we ask that you wait 6 months after treatment ends to be serviced.
What is your late policy?
It is our policy to respect everyone's time. After 10 minutes, your appointment is cancelled. Our clients are scheduled consecutively - starting appointments after the courtesy 10 minute grace period, interferes with the next clients service time.
What is your reschedule policy?
We know life happens & we understand. We allow our clients a courtesy one time reschedule. We ask that if you must reschedule that it be made 72 hours before your appointment.

What is the difference between Microblading and Microshading?
Microblading is accomplished using a handheld tool that has a blade connected to the end. Not recommended for oily skin.
Microshading is accomplished using a machine that implants tiny dots of pigment into the uppermost layer of skin.
Is Microshading the same as a tattoo?
No they are not. A tattoo and Microshading are similar but they are not the same. A tattoo goes 3 layers below the skin (hypodermis); which is why it is permanent, while microshading only goes 1 layer below (epidermis) & fades over time.
What things should I avoid BEFORE my appointment?
Clients should avoid the following BEFORE an appointment (24 hours):
- Caffeine
- Tea
- Aspirin
- Alcohol
*yes, chocolate has caffeine in it*
Can I wear makeup after my service?
The service area is in essence a healing wound, so proper aftercare is critical. No makeup in the brow area can be worn for the first 10 days. Any makeup worn should be carefully removed.
What do ombre brows look like?
Ombre brows are darker toward the tail of the brow and as the color moves to the front it becomes lighter for an ombre effect.
How do traditional tattoos & semi permanent tattoos differ?
Traditional tattoos go 3 layers deep into the skin & semi-permanent (ombre brows) work within the very top layer of the skin.
Does the ombre brows technique offer a natural "hair stroke look"?
Ombre brows will not provide a “hair stroke” finish for your brows. Ombre brows implant tiny dots of pigment into the skin creating a gradual fade of color from tail to the front of the brow.
What colors are available?
There are a wide range of colors are available to complement each client’s undertone, skin tone and hair color.
Is there a chance of infection?
Safety is our number one priority, and we are Blood Borne Pathogens certified. One time use sterile disposable needles are always used, which are opened in front of each client prior to being serviced.
Do I get to select my own eyebrow color?
We have had extensive training in color selection tailored to each client’s requirements. We do explain how we chose the specified color and what factors we considered during the selection process.
Who would be the ideal client for ombre brow service?
Ombre brows are ideal for those over the age of 18, not pregnant or nursing and do not have any uncontrolled medical conditions.
How many touch ups will I need after the initial service?
The client will return one time after their initial appointment (6-8 weeks). After that, we typically see clients about 1.5 or 2 years later.
What skin types are suitable for ombre brows?
Ombre brows are ideal for a variety of clients, especially those that have oilier skin textures.
How do brow pigments differ than traditional tattoo ink?
Traditional body tattoos use ink while cosmetic tattoo procedures involve pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading allows the ability to make changes over times as trends and brow preferences change.
Are you going to use black?
No - black is not within our color palette as majority of brows are a variation of brows. If black is used - it is never used alone.
What are hybrid henna brows?
Hybrid henna brows are a combination of dye & henna to create a longer lasting brow effect.
Why are hybrid henna brows a better alternative to traditional tint?
Hybrid henna not only dye the eyebrow hair but stains the skin beneath the brows for up to 3 weeks, tint doesn’t have the same effect.
How long do hybrid henna brows last?
Hybrid henna brows last up to 3 weeks with proper care and maintenance (minimal).
Will henna cover grey hairs or coarse white hairs?
Yes, it does! Due to the unique composition of the henna stain, it has the ability to cover those hairs we don’t always want shown.
How long is the hybrid henna brow service?
The average service time is typically no more than 45 minutes.
Who is the hybrid henna brow service good for?
In short, almost anyone! Best results are seen on clients who have some hair flow, but anyone can get hybrid henna brows.
Who is not recommended for Hybrid Henna brows?
We do not recommend this service to those that are allergic to dye, henna, have broken skin near the service area or uncontrolled skin disorders.
